Elizabeth Locke
Founder of Elizabeth Locke Jewels
Elizabeth Locke draws on a lifelong fascination with the antique jewelry of the Etruscans, Greeks and Romans as she creates her own neo-classical handmade 19k gold jewelry. She selects every stone and designs every piece herself. While many covet the luminescent stones or the Venetian glass intaglios in her designs, Elizabeth's deepest passion is for one-of-a-kind antiquities: 19th-century micromosaics and pietra dura, 18th-century Chinese gambling counters, Essex crystals, miniature paintings or antique Japanese porcelain buttons. She began Elizabeth Locke Jewels in 1988, relying on her experiences abroad and fueled by her visual sensibility.

Drew English
Head Dahlia Gardener at High Hampton
Drew English
Head Dahlia Gardener at High Hampton
Drew English is affectionately known as the “Dahlia Doctor.” In 2010, a walk in among the dahlias in the heirloom garden on the High Hampton property germinated a passion for growing the gorgeous flowers. His own garden in the North Carolina mountains began with a small plot of land that grew into a terraced hillside garden of nearly 100 dahlia plants. His passion was drawn full circle in 2018 when he became the Head Dahlia Gardener at the historic Halsted Dahlia Garden at High Hampton, the very garden where his love affair with dahlias was cultivated. Charmed by the artistry and tradition of dahlias in the Cashiers, North Carolina region, Drew is committed to imparting their history and preserving their legacy with current and
future generations.
