Dana Lange
Mah Jongg Instructor
Dana Lange first learned to play Mah Jongg the Chinese way from her grandmother, but switched to American the National Mahjong League way 30 years ago. She started teaching beginner Mah Jongg 25 years ago. In the last decade due to the demand from her beginner students who wanted more of her fun classes she has created a multi-course curriculum or classes, from Beginner to Beyond Beginner, Strategy and New Card Orientation Classes. Most students come back for more just because they love her stories. Her classes are one part Stand Up routine, one part expert teaching and all parts fun. She says, “Learning a game should be nothing but fun, but as Mah Jongg is many rules and half as many exceptions to rules you need a good teacher to learn it efficiently as well as strategically.” Dana travels not just the state of North Carolina where she lives and teaches, but from the Bahamas to Texas to Maine and all the places in between spreading Mah Jongg joy. She has been the featured guest on many Mah Jongg forums and podcasts and the wait list to get into her classes is eight months long.
