Welcome to High Hampton! We are thrilled to have you here with us for the Summer season. From lake activities to fresh ingredients in the kitchen, we invite you to enjoy every opportunity to celebrate and cherish the season while you create memories that last a lifetime.

Since joining the High Hampton team earlier this year, I have been delighted to experience how the property evolves with each season change in Cashiers. I hope you take advantage of all that our beautiful area has to offer, and we hope to welcome you for a return stay in future seasons!

Stephen McLean grew up in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia where he was introduced to the hospitality industry at The Greenbrier hotel and resort. It was there that Stephen experienced southern hospitality and an environment that instilled service excellence. With over 35 years of service in the hospitality industry, Stephen has a diverse background, including working at several world-class hotels, resorts and private social clubs, as well as residential golf communities, and real estate projects.Throughout his career, he has served various roles at properties including the Virginia Golf Club and Nicewonder Farm & Vineyard in Bristol Virginia, the Boca Raton Hotel and Club, the Breakers Hotel and the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company. Stephen attributes his success to his passion for people, engagement with guests, ability to affect positive change, and history of building cohesive teams committed to service excellence. Stephen joined the High Hampton team in 2022 as General Manager. In each hospitality role he’s embraced, Stephen dedicates his efforts to support and create a team that prioritizes respect, passion and cooperation, while enjoying the work they do and the team members they work with. Stephen enjoys the outdoors, and while not at work, he spends time with his family riding their horses, walking their four dogs, cooking, hiking and perfecting his chip shot.
