Our Conservation Efforts
In the Summer of 2019, Daniel Communities received an analysis on conservation and green space at High Hampton and over half of the land is under conservation easement or designated green spaces. Two landmark mountains, Rock Mountain and Chimney Top, fall under conservation easement with the Highlands Cashiers Land Trust so we will continue to see each mountain remain in its natural state without there ever being the possibility for land development.
There are also protected hiking trails throughout property! This includes up Rock Mountain and Chimney Top, through the saddle between the two summits and interconnecting areas around the property. While we enjoy traversing the trails, our conversation efforts alongside our development permit with the US Army Corp of Engineers recognizes and protects eight threatened or endangered species in the area. As High Hampton continues on as a resort, it will also continue to pursue the conservation of the surrounding area.
