October 14, 2026 Fall Letter From the General Manager
There’s something about being a bystander to Mother Nature’s pattern of change that can’t be described, only understood when experienced for yourself. Embraced by the richness of Autumn color, fresh air and bountiful seasonal leisure, this season at High Hampton is unbeatable.
Fall temperatures are some of the most inviting for outdoor activity; there’s no trying to beat the heat or fight off the cold because conditions are just right. Late October into early November also lends itself to peak foliage viewing, so you’ll want to plan for a hike to make the most of the season. With miles of hiking trails surrounding the Inn, you don’t even have to leave property to trek to the top of a mountain for panoramic views of breathtaking color. Our team leads hikes almost every day, so you can just enjoy the journey while we guide you along the best trails and share knowledge of the surrounding nature.
This season is also superior for fly fishing. The cooler water temperatures welcome the fish to be more active, naturally creating more opportunities for successful catches. Whether you’re a complete beginner or a habitual angler, private float trips are available with an experienced fly fisherman to take you out on our very own Hampton Lake for a rewarding afternoon of catch and release.
Complement this all with a warm afternoon coffee, arcade games, indulgent meals and a couple of s’mores by the firepit. Whatever you choose, I hope you’ll allow yourself to lose track of the time and live in the moment of this season.
Happy Fall!
Luke Callaghan
General Manager, High Hampton Inn
