Best Ways to Enjoy Fall Views at High Hampton

3 Fall HH x Flip co 102

The vivid colors and cool weather that accompany the Fall season create a special sense of wonder you won’t feel any other time of year. At High Hampton, stunning Autumn views can be found all over property. We’ve compiled a list of our favorite ways to experience the magic of the season to get you even more excited about your stay.

Hiking the trails

Autumn’s beauty can be found throughout 15 miles of private trails at High Hampton. Stroll along the Azalea Trail and marvel at the vibrant yellow leaves of the Tulip Poplar, which is one of our largest trees on property. For more of a challenge, embark on the Rock Mountain Trail to encounter high vantage points with sweeping mountain views.

Canoe rides on Hampton Lake

Enjoying a day out on the water isn’t just exclusive to Summer. Take in 360-degree views of Fall foliage from a unique perspective with a relaxing canoe ride across Hampton Lake. If it’s your first time canoeing, we offer guided experiences and safety courses to make you feel more comfortable on the water and ensure a serene nature watching experience.

Relaxing in your room

From Inn room windows and Lake Cottage balconies to Hawthorn House’s upper-level porch, Autumn scenery is viewable from all High Hampton accommodations. You can welcome a new Fall day with a gorgeous sunrise, then wind down during a peaceful sunset all from the comfort of your own room.

Lounging on a daybed

Enjoy the crisp Autumn breeze and panoramic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains while relaxing on a daybed on the Event Lawn. Grab a cup of coffee from the Tavern, a good book and your favorite company as you surround yourself with the season’s beauty.

A morning pickleball match

Let the crisp Autumn air fill your lungs and drive your competitive spirit on the pickleball courts. Mountain views can be seen in every direction and will inspire you as you play. Inn guests may book a 60- or 90-minute reservation on the court.

S'mores by the fire pit

When the Fall breeze leans a little on the chillier side, warm up by the fire pit and roast some marshmallows on the Tavern Terrace. S’mores taste even better with a mesmerizing view of Fall foliage and a mountainous landscape.
