Southern Living: High Hampton Is One Of The Best Hotels For Spotting Fall Foliage
Southern Living recently named High Hampton as one of "the best Southern hotels for spotting Fall foliage."
"There’s never a bad time to visit Western North Carolina, although October and November might take the cake as the best months to go. For an incredibly colorful trip, consider booking a room (or cottage) at High Hampton," shares journalist Lydia Mansel in a recent Southern Living story that lists High Hampton among "the best Southern hotels for spotting Fall foliage."
The story goes on to share Executive Chef Scott Franqueza's go-to spots for leaf peeping on property:
“We have a tremendous view of the box canyon that is Cashiers, especially sitting outside on the Tavern Terrace looking at Rock Mountain. Typically, the black locust trees, as well as the maples, start to change first, followed by the beech and oak trees,” explains Scott Franqueza, High Hampton’s executive chef. For an extra large dose of crisp mountain air, he suggests hiking White Side Mountain, “which provides another awesome view of the canyon and all of the foliage.” When exploring the resort, keep a lookout for several Chef Franqueza notes these “provide beautiful colors that can be seen around the property or while playing 18 holes on the golf course."
