Summer Favorites
Our recommendations for what to do and see around the High Hampton this Summer.
With 1,400 acres to explore, there’s so much to do and see at High Hampton. Here are a few of our team’s top seasonal recommendations.
The Dahlia Garden: Since the early 1900s, High Hampton's iconic Dahlia Garden has been a guest and Club Member favorite. This season, the garden will be overflowing with more than 600 plants, creating a color-wheel of variety, shapes and sizes and representing decades of dedicated gardening. To celebrate, we're hosting Dahlia Days, a three-day event in partnership with FLOWER Magazine this August 11-14. Click here to learn more and save your seat.
The Event Lawn: Enjoy a leisurely afternoon of lounging on one of our signature day beds on the Inn's Event Lawn. For an elevated experience, add your favorite vacation read and a drink from The Tavern. Our team highly recommends trying the White Negroni or seasonal Gin & Tonic.
Hiking: One of the many complimentary activities included in a stay at High Hampton is access to miles of the resort’s private hiking trails. While every season offers breathtaking views, there's something extra special about a Summer hike around property. During your trek, we suggest taking advantage of our unique vantage points and taking in the seasonal scenery from the top of Rock Mountain and Chimney Top Mountain. After your hike, we recommend enjoying a celebratory meal in The Dining Room, or venturing to nearby downtown Cashiers to enjoy a local brewery.
Hampton Lake: Set in the Inn's backyard, Hampton Lake offers endless opportunities for adventure in the Summer. Choose your ideal way to explore the water with one of our kayaks, canoes, stand-up paddleboards or fishing boats.
The Lobby: The centerpiece of the Inn, our spacious Lobby offers plenty of cozy places to relax in between activities, read or play a good, old-fashioned board game with the family.
Golf: High Hampton's inspiring 18-hole course celebrates the exhilarating play and personality of classic high-country golf. Surrounded by epic mountain views, natural character and thrilling contours, the course was thoughtfully and thoroughly reimagined as a par-71 championship course by acclaimed designer Tom Fazio.
The History Center: Discover what makes High Hampton special by diving into the rich history of the property at our on-site History Center. From the original buildings to Hampton Lake, each part of High Hampton has a captivating story waiting to be told.
