September 03, 2024 High Hampton's Wild Mountain Cocktail
A guest favorite, the Wild Mountain is one of our most popular cocktails at High Hampton. It is easy, delicious and light, and the embodiment of a great whiskey drink. While it is enjoyable anytime of the day, it pairs especially well with a great book by the fire on a Fall afternoon.
Ingredients:
2 oz. Elijah Craig Small Batch Whiskey
.75 oz. Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice
.75 oz. Honey Simple Syrup*
.25 oz. Freshly Squeezed Ginger Juice
Fresh Mint
Directions:
Combine whiskey, lemon juice, honey syrup and ginger juice in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously until cold. Serve on the rocks in a whiskey glass, garnished with mint.
*A traditional simple syrup is equal parts sugar and water. For honey simple syrup, you’ll use honey in place of sugar. You can make it with the same 1:1 measurements or experiment with the ratio of honey to water to find the consistency you like most. A thinner liquid will mix best within the cocktail.
