Wine Spectator: Best Award of Excellence

HH Corison Dinner social 43

The Dining Room at High Hampton has made Jackson County history by becoming the first restaurant in Cashiers to be honored with Wine Spectator's Best Award of Excellence. This recognition, bestowed upon only 1,411 restaurants in the United States, places High Hampton among an elite group of establishments renowned for their wine programs.

Guided by the expertise of Beverage Manager Kelsey Hofmann, The Dining Room at High Hampton has curated a wine list that encompasses a selection of 395 offerings. With an inventory of 4,800 bottles, the restaurant has earned its place as a destination for wine enthusiasts in the South and beyond.

Wine Spectator's Best Award of Excellence is a testament to The Dining Room's commitment to providing an extraordinary wine experience. The award recognizes establishments that feature a diverse range of over 350 wines, showcasing various regions, styles, and vintages. Additionally, these restaurants prioritize the training and education of their staff, ensuring customers receive expert guidance when making wine selections.

Stephen McLean, General Manager of High Hampton, expressed his pride in the team's accomplishment stating "I am very proud of our team, and especially Kelsey Hoffman and our team of wine sommeliers, on this outstanding recognition.”

McLean's sentiments were echoed by Kelsey Hofmann, the Beverage Manager at The Dining Room, who shared her delight saying "I am so happy and grateful to be a part of the team that built our list. We continue to work to build a list that represents not only the most awarded wine makers, but those that are making the most delicious and thoughtful wine."

This remarkable achievement adds to High Hampton's growing list of accolades and recognition as a travel destination. Nestled in the Blue Ridge mountains and sprawling over 1,400 acres, the resort reopened in 2021 after a three year long revitalization under the careful direction of the seasoned leadership of Blackberry Farm.
