In our “meet the team” series, we sit down with a member of the High Hampton team to find out a little more about what brought them to High Hampton and get a little behind the scenes peek into their lives outside of work.

It’s time to introduce Scott Franqueza! Scott helms the kitchen as the Executive PM Chef at the Inn and is excited to bring his kitchen experience to Cashiers. He joined the High Hampton team ready to share his fresh take on southern favorites with guests at The Dining Room.

What was most exciting to you about joining the High Hampton team?
Being able to forge my own path in a historic setting is what excited me the most about joining the team at High Hampton. The history here is amazing, and it’s exciting to think I can contribute to the future of the Inn.

If you were staying at High Hampton as a guest for the day, what would you do?
The first thing I would do after I get up is eat a delicious breakfast created by Chef Zachary Chancey. Once I’m finished, I would hit the greens for a round of golf – and maybe a few beers – then head over to the pond and fish while enjoying the sun and Summer heat. After fishing, I would grab a cocktail and sit by the pool until dusk and then get ready for a great dinner by my awesome team of chefs!

What is one interesting thing team members and guests might not know about you?
I used to drive a sprint car (it’s a type of racecar) with my family on the weekends.

What is your favorite thing to do in your free time?
I love to hunt and fly fish! I know my wife and close friends would say I’m obsessed with deer.

If a cocktail/mocktail was inspired by you, what ingredients would it have in it?
I’m an old fashion for sure. Classic, but enough of a punch to get the job done and perfect in any setting.
