Three generations of my family has been enjoying High Hampton for 50 years. We started going to High Hampton when our children were very young - they are now 40 and 48! After High School graduation, our son worked in the kitchen for a season. Our grand daughter loved it so much and wants to get married there - not for many years I hope - she just turned 18. Great memories of the lake, fishing, golf, and of course hiking to the top of the mountain. We purchased a home up there 10 years ago, but still sent our friends and family members to High Hampton. Will miss the "old" High Hampton, but are looking forward to the new "High Hampton".

My dad always had yearly business meetings at HH. I LOVED coming there and enjoyed the family meals in the dining room but one time I left my baby blanket that I loved and it was never found. It literally broke my heart and I’ve never forgotten about it. We called back and asked them to look for it to see if housekeeping found it because it would have been in the bed sheets but they never did. Always loved that baby blanket and back then cried my eyes out. Haven’t been there in YEARS and would LOVE to come back! Always loved the horses and going on walks with my Dad, when he wasn’t in his security dealer meetings.

I started going to High Hampton over 50 years ago. I fondly remember the night-time ritual of all of us children going into the kitchen before bedtime to get cookies and milk. Having the run of the Inn felt like home. I also remember participating in the children's activities/program at Noah's Ark.

Over 20 years ago in 1998 Emory Internal Medicine took their Residents and us Interns up for just 1 night up to The High Hampton. It was easy to recognize that we were in a remarkable place. I bought a postcard that day with a white squirrel on it from the front desk and carried that card with me every day after throughout residency to give me encouragement and to remind me to return one day when I finished. 20 years later...and since...my family and extended family have annual trips there...it is now a family tradition.

My family has been vacationing at High Hampton since the 30s. My great grandparents started the tradition. My grandfather, Alfred Shook, rented Halsted Cottage for most of the summer and we would go for two weeks every August. My mother continued the tradition after that and my family after my mother passed. There are too many fond memories to mention! Hiking the trails, bingo, tea time, the Tavern. I loved that my children got to experience it and love it as much as I did.
