My grandson Wilson asked recently if there will be cookies and tea in the afternoon at the “new” Inn. He is 10 years old now and happily remembers the ritual of a golf cart ride to High Hampton every afternoon at 4. We would pick out our cookies, juice and tea and then visit with other families in the Inn lobby, sometimes chatting with old friends or meeting new ones at the ring toss.

My husband and I celebrated our honeymoon there in February 1979! It was so foggy on the way there that it was like a dream, and when we arrived it began snowing. We were thrilled! Our stay was so enjoyable and full of adventure. We enjoyed exploring the Inn with all the rich chestnut, since we love nature and antiques. The waterfalls in the surrounding area are beautiful, and then all the towns full of art and hand crafted works topped it off. We have lived in 5 states through the years since then and have recently retired and moved back to my home state of South Carolina! We look forward to returning for another visit to the breathtaking High Hampton Inn!
